On November 3rd, 2014, the class on giant panda pathology started smoothly at the Dujaingyan Base of CCRCGP. The class was opened with the purpose of increasing the number of giant panda as well as strengthening the ability of giant panda pathology on diagnosis. 24 experts and veterinarians from 18 relative institutions over the world gathered together to discuss the scientific research subject of giant panda pathology. The institutions included The San Diego Zoo, the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation，Hong Kong, China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, Beijing Zoo and Panyu Xiangjiang Safari Park.
At 9:00 am, at the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhang Hemin, the director of CCRCGP, Mr. Megan, the associate director of the San Diego Zoo and Mr. Li Fukang of the Ocean Park ，Hong Kong made a speech. Everyone was looking forward to it.
Experts on pathology from USA, Hong Kong and the mainland of China were invited to give training classes. At the same time, the study and discussion were went on in the animal autopsy evaluation, disease investigation method, sample and data collection archive as well as the diagnosis quality assurance. It aims to improve the pathology diagnosis on giant panda conservation.
The activity will last until November 7th, 2014.
